Two young brothers become the leaders of a gang of kids in the Tokyo suburbs. They become disillusioned with their father when they witness how he plays the buffoon before his colleagues and boss. A silent film with its visual style so dynamic that you hardly notice, both the gags and the emotional disappointments are anchored in a sure sense of characterisation that remains wholly fresh.
