GUISBOROUGH & DISTRICT BRANCH |
|
|
W E L C O M E We are a group of people from the Guisborough and District area who enjoy all aspects of sewing and sharing our knowledge in friendly surroundings. Everyone is welcome to join the Branch, whether an experienced stitcher, a beginner or even a non-sewer. Afterwards we have tea and biscuits and a friendly get-together. See Programme. The charge per meeting for Visitors is £4. Teaching is usually by professional, nationally known tutors. Members £15. Visitors £20. A member of our own Branch normally takes these and a wide range of subjects is covered. Last year for instance it was to the new Textile Gallery at Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle. We also visited York Minster and were given a conducted tour by the York Broderers. Each year we also arrange a trip to the Knitting and Stitch Show at Harrogate. Visitors may attend two Meetings and then would be requested to become a Member. Members have first choice for places when booking Day Schools. Members receive the Embroiderers' Guild Contact Magazine twice a year. Equipment can be taken on loan for a refundable deposit. By being a member, as well as enjoying our local activities, you are helping to keep alive and encourage the art of Embroidery and related crafts, as well as preserving the National collection of fine historical works. |
