The CWGC memorial places Private T H Sellers in the 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment and the Skelton Church plaque in the 4th Bn.
A Skelton Parish Magazine of 1914 places Thomas Herbert in the 6th Bn, gives his date of death as 16th February 1917 and his address as 38 Park St, Skelton.
Perhaps two people with the same name are being confused.


There are no people called Sellers on the 1901 census for Skelton.


The Private T H Sellers on the CWGC website was taken prisoner at some unknown date, as the name appears on the Malbork Memorial in Poland.
