RAILWAYS AND MINES AROUND SKELTON 1912.

The number of train loads of iron ore produced by the Skelton mines at this time were:-
North Skelton 4 , Longacres 4, South Skelton 5, Skelton Park 3 and Skelton Shaft 1.
The picture bottom left shows the main line running over the viaduct.
In the foreground is the branch to Spawood Mine. and in the distance a train is on the branch line to Shaft and Park pits.
The picture bottom right, [taken at a later date, but showing ironstone miners],
shows the railway lines just after the Priestcroft Junction crossing Stanghow Rd with the unusual "double" bridge.
The picture top right shows N Skelton "Hollybush" Station looking down the line towards Longacres Pit, the Viaduct and Saltburn.
