FAQ:

HOW OLD MUST A DOG BE TO START TRAINING AGILITY?
We don't take on dogs under 12 months as they are not fully
developed and can damage young bones. There are lots of exercises
to teach your dog before ever training on the equipment.
Some clubs take younger dogs-be very careful about this.
The larger the breed the longer you should wait before repetative training.

IS YOUR CLUB INSURED?
Yes

WHAT DAY IS THE BEGINNERS COURSE?
Monday nights.

Do you have any day classes?
No sorry.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED TO TEACH?
yes I have attended many courses and I am a member of the British Inst Of Professional Dog Training. I have been a dog trainer for over 15 years and have been instructing agility since 1995. Previously I have been employed as a dog warden and have worked on the Dog section of an animal sanctuary. All of these things have given me invaluable understanding of working with and training dogs. I currently compete in agility and have trained all my own dogs.

I HAVE A SMALL DOG CAN HE DO AGILITY?

yes any size of dog can do agility-so long as they are not overweight.

CAN ANY BREED DO AGILITY?

Yes, virtually all breeds can do agility. I would be reluctant to take on a breed such as newfoundland due to it's heaviness. Any dogs who come to train need to be physically fit.

HOW MANY DOGS WILL THEIR BE ON THE COURSE?
No more than 10

DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE OBEDIENCE TRAINED?
No but should come when called and have a good wait/stay.

MY DOG DOES'NT LIKE OTHER DOGS WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM?
We have had dogs come to the club with nervousness and agility has helped the dogs confidence. If necessary we can assess the dog to see if we think agility would be a good idea or not.

I CAN'T MAKE MONDAY DO YOU HAVE OTHER NIGHTS?
Currently not, other nights are full and for members who are competing.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
6 weeks

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE COMPLETED THE COURSE?
If you and the dog have enjoyed the course you may wish to become members and continue to train with the club.

WHAT TIME IS THE COURSE?
8.30-10.30

CAN CHILDREN DO AGILITY?
Yes we have several Junior handlers but from experience under 12's struggle with the late nights.

MY DOG DOES'NT LIKE PEOPLE IS THAT A PROBLEM?
No only you will be handling the dog.

DO I NEED TO BE FIT?
It helps but your fitness will develop the more you train.

CAN I BOOK A ONE TO ONE SESSION?
One to ones are for members only who want to develop their handling skills and there is a long waiting list.

I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM?
The surface we train on is really difficult for wheelchairs to be wheeled on. If you ring us we can recomend a specially adapted training club.

I AM ALREADY A MEMBER OF ANOTHER CLUB CAN I COME AND TRAIN WITH BACAGILITY ASWELL?
We have no problem with people been a member of more than one club; it is healthy for the members to watch other handlers. Out of coutesey please make your trainer aware of this-I know of several clubs who are against this practice.

IS BACAGILITY A KC REGISTERED CLUB?
No, but we train under KC guidelines and all our equipment is of KC standard.
