Welcome to my personal family pages!

This is me, Diana Plummer. In 2002, I reached the 60th year of my life's journey. It was a whole year of celebration!

I was born in Port of Spain Trinidad, West Indies; a third generation West Indian, daughter of Patricia Lechmere Guppy and Richardo Carlos Becerra.

Like some of my unconventional family in the past; John and Nicholas Guppy, Yseult Bridges and Charmian Barker; I have wandered far from Trinidad and lived in various places for various reasons and various periods of time; Switzerland, Florida and the UK.

For the last 23 years I have lived in Newport, Wales, UK. There was no logical reason for this destination just the University that I choose to go to to do my three year degree in Fine Art in 1989.

I can't leave Wales now as as I have two grandsons, Elliot [aged 14] & Theo [aged 9]and a daughter in law, Teri-Ann [aged young] They need me around to keep them in order [?] and teach them Trini ways of misbehavin'!

Elliot: looks exactly like his Mom [with Dad's hands]

I am very lucky - even though Teri-Ann and Sammy are divorced they have both met other partners so I have acquired two more "in-laws" by proxy!!

I am lucky enough to have many dear friends (For links to their Pages and Sites) around the world who welcome me into their homes and lives and satisfy my globe trotting urges!

There have been two special friends along the way; one who sadly died in March 1998, and* the other who disappeared leaving a big empty space in my heart.

My sister Maureen lives in the UK too, and is married for the second time to Marco, an Italian she met in Cambridge when he was doing his Phd.

Since most of our relatives died off so early on, we are now in the envious position of being "The Matriachs" of our immediate families (with the exception of two old aunts)

Needless to say, neither Maureen nor I know how to grow up/old gracefully, we still wear silly shoes and the latest fashions. Bring on the mint sauce!

I am still sustained and excited by music; my vinyl and CD collections (which have always travelled with me despite all adversities) span some 30 years; from the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkle, Pink Floyd, Genesis & Moody Blues thru to Radio Head, Faithless, Kosheen, Moby, Morcheeba, Air, Green Day, and Emenen.

Now of course I listen to them all on a tiny, weightless, stamp sized plastic mp3 player ! Where were you ipod when I was doin' all that travelling!

I spend most of my time making stuff; mostly now on computers. Photography, painting and sound are my favorites. I also love making toys - presently castles and various armies of weird monsters with strange and wonderful weapons are in demand (my grandkids are normal bloodthirsty mini-males!)

I try to spend as much time as I can afford to travelling to see my dearest friends in Florida, Canada and Trinidad.I have also had some wonderful summers with Maureen in her house in Cornwall, beach combing, painting, taking photos and making sound recordings. In Cornwall it always seems to be summer!

I cannot end my home page without a link for pix of some of the furry friends with whom my family and friends have lived.
