This race is run under UK Athletics Rules

To help celebrate the 25th Wokingham Half Marathon Mizuno in partnership with Apex Sports will run a special on the day promotion.

To take advantage of this promotion visit the Apex Sports stand on the day.

 1. RACE VENUE – The race starts and finishes at CantleyPark, off Twyford Road, Wokingham. Please see            attached map showing location and route. No dogs or accompanying vehicles or cycles are allowed on the       course.

 2. CAR PARKING – There is no parking available at CantleyPark, the field being far too wet. We recommend the use of tarmaced Council car parks, see the attached maps. Using these car parks will guarantee quick and easy access and exit. These car parks are also free of charge.

 3. CHANGING AND SHOWER FACILITIES – will be available free of charge at the finish. Plastic bags will be issued at kit marquee. Please attach a label to the bag. The organisers do not accept responsibility for the contents of the bag.

 4. RACE NUMBER – Please ensure that you secure it to the front of your running vest. If you have a medical condition which will need consideration should you be taken ill, please mark the front of you number with a black cross, and detail the condition on the back. If you feel unwell before the race, or have not been well for a few days prior to the event, please do not start, remember there is always another year. Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner, this will lead to disqualification.

 5. START TIME – The race will commence from Cantley Park at precisely 10.00 am and all competitors should arrive one hour before the start, as surrounding roads which form part of the course will be closed to traffic before the race starts. Please race on the left hand side of the road unless otherwise instructed by the Police or course marshals.

 6. DRINK STATIONS – Water stations on route will be at approximately 3, 6 miles and 10 miles. There will also be a water station at the finish, a hot drink is also provided free of charge.

 7. If you feel unable to complete the course, please wait with a marshal for the follow-up vehicle which will transport you back to CantleyPark. THE RACE OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REQUIRE RUNNERS NOT PAST 6 MILES IN 1 HOUR 15 MINUTES OR 10 MILES IN 2 HOURS TO BOARD THE SWEEPER COACH AND BE TAKEN BACK TO CANTLEY. Full first aid and medical services en route, along with radio communications are available.

 8. There is a team competition for both men and women. The first four runners to finish will be classified as the ‘team’. The result is calculated on combined finish time.

 9. PRIZES – All competitors who finish the race will receive a medal. There may be an engraver on hand to engrave your medal with your name and date etc. at a reasonable cost. There are individual trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the mens and womens race. There are also trophies for fastest veterans – mens ages 40-44, 45-49,50-59 and 60 plus and women ages 35-39, 40-49 and 50 plus. Presentation will be at 12.15 – 12.30 pm on the area to the left of the Theater near to the commentary caravan. Individual prize winners will qualify for one prize only.

 9a. CASH PRIZES - £500 for a course record for both men and ladies

 10. TOILETS – will be at Cantley Park, both at the main entrance and by the new start at the end of the drive.

 11. REFRESHMENTS – We will be providing hot drinks and snacks throughout the day.

 12. FUN RUN – there is a fun run of approximately 1 mile for 9 - 11 & 12 – 16 year olds, starting at approximately 10.15 am in Cantley Park.

 13. RESULTS – Results will be published on our web page.

 14. ENQUIRIES – can be found  within Cantley in changing room 2.

 15. EMERGENCY/CANCELLATION INFORMATION – as the race takes place when bad weather can prevail, please tune to local radio stations in the area 210 FM (102.9 and 97.0) BBC Radio Berkshire (104.4 and 95.4 FM). Every effort will be made to have the local radio stations in the London, Oxfordshire and South Coast areas carry any cancellation news. Our website will also be kept up to date with any relevant information or check the Runner’s forums.

In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control, no entrant will be entitled to a refund. In the event of a cancellation, entries will be carried over to the 2011 race. All surplus funds are donated to local charities.
