Mountpottinger Baptist Church has been actively serving God in the Templemore Avenue area since 1891. The church was established as a direct result of a survey of the area which showed that a large number of those with Baptist beliefs lived in the Ballymacarrett area . After an advert was placed in the Belfast Telegraph on May 5th 1891 , 50 people met in Saunder Street National School , Newtownards Road , where the decision of the meeting was that ‘ it is desirable that a Baptist Church should be organised at once’ , and so 115 years later the work goes on.
As you can imagine things have changed dramatically over the years: the people , the building , the area , but one thing that doesn’t change is the message we present to the area.
