113th Boy’s Brigade

Our
Junior Section and Anchor Boys are combined and meet on Tuesday Nights . Both sections start at 6.30pm with Anchor Boys finishing at 7.30pm and the Junior Section Boys continue until 8.00pm.
We try to run a varied programme throughout the year including trips ,parties and entry into a Saturday morning football league played at either the Billy Neill pitches , Comber Road or the BB pitches at Belvoir. Our team has been struggling but we keep hoping for a victory. Our nightly programme involves Physically , Spiritually and mentally stimulating activities.
Recently we have been running the
BB Broncos scheme which encourages physical activity through fun, fast moving and quickly changing games. This has been greatly enjoyed by all the boys even those who normally are reluctant to take part in the physical activities.
We currently have around 12 boys and would welcome any boy aged 6 - 11.
Our officer in charge is Jonathan McConnell who is assisted by Andrew McQuillan, Peter Gamble, Alister Sherlock and until recently Jonathan Gamble who is working in Dublin and Christopher Foy who has left us for 8 months for a once in a life time opportunity to work in New Zealand.

Alistair Sherlock and Peter Gamble were presented with their Queen’s Badge, the highest award in the BB, at a church service in Mountpottinger Baptist by the Honourary President of the 113th Boy’s Brigade Company, Mr David Hunter MBE .
Peter joined the Company in 1993 and Alistair a year later.
Both have given up three hours each week for the past year helping the junior section and anchor boys, much more than they were required to in order to gain their badges. They also have been involved in their own churches , Peter as sound Engineer and Alistair with the church’s music. Both boys also spent 30 hours meeting and greeting visitors to the A&E at the Ulster Hospital. Alistair has also been involved with the Mission Aviation Fellowship and Peter with the Red Cross.

Congratulations !
