Training
RYA Level 1 Course
Training is done in RS Visions, The Vision is a modern boat fitted with Asymmetric spinnaker (not that you use the spinnaker on level 1 or 2 or Seamanship courses. The mainsails of each boat have two rows of slab reefing so that we can sail in most winds, the boats are fully insured. Each boat will have two trainees + a qualified RYA instructor.
You will learn the rudiments of sailing, launching and recovery of boats, the names of the various ropes and sails. You will learn how to rig a boat, sail setting techniques, Helming and boat safety to RYA standards.
At the end of the course providing you have made satisfactory progress you will be awarded a RYA Level 1 certificate.
