Club Racing
We hold two races on a Sunday 10am and 12 noon, on Wednesday evening from April to end of August we hold one race starting at 7pm.
The first thing you have to do is sign on for the race or races if you decide to do two, look in the old starters box by the slipways and you will see the race sheets for each class

For those new to the club, the racing is started from a committee boat, the course is displayed on the side of the boat. The buoys on the Harp are number 1 - 8, in two banks of four, the odd numbers down the right hand side of the Harp and even numbers down the left hand side see photo below.
Buoy numbers on the side of the committee boat with a red background you leave to Port and numbers on a green background you leave to starboard. The number of laps is displayed on a white board

The starting sequence is Merlin /MRX, Laser, RS200 with the GP14 and Fireflies starting together.
At the start of a race the committee boat will give 3 hoots on the horn and on the third hoot raise Merlin /MRX class flag (to see the sequence of flags .....click here).
The race is finished between the committee boat and a mark of the course.
A shortened course is signaled by two hoots on the horn and the shortened course flag displayed.
