I am writing this at the beginning of October and as I missed the August Meeting (I was on holiday) it seems such a long time since the last meeting in July and here we are booking the Christmas Lunch! Tme really does fly as you get older doesn't it?
We have a different venue for the lunch this year just for a change. We have enjoyed several excellent lunches at Robinson College, but thought we would try somewhere else in the area. I hope you will enjoy it as much. Also following on from the excellent turnout for the August meeting, the committee are considering whether to have a meeting in August in the future as well as September. What do you think?
Following the success of our Western Area Regional Get-Together in April, Huntingdon Branch are inviting Cambridge, Peterborough and Wisbech Branches to join them for a lunch with an after dinner speaker at Slepe Hall in St. Ives on Saturday 6th. March 2010. So do please put the date in your diary as numbers will be limited. We do hope to do more and more with our local branches.
May I also remind you that any member is welcome to attend the committee meetings at any time. Just contact me and I will let you know where it is to be held.
Finally, we have had quite a few new members join us recently and I would like to welcome you all to the Fellowship. We have some excellent speakers and some great outings and theatre trips booked so I hope to see you all, both new and longstanding members soon.
Welcome to the October edition of the Newsletter. The Fellowship has been very active in the last four months and we hope you enjoy the reports from these events
The get togethers have started in some areas and we certainly enjoyed ours. We have been unable to attend the Rambles lately so the reports are brief with no pictures. However we are hoping to join the October ramble.
We include as many pictures as possible to try and bring the reports to life. These would be much improved if we could print in colour. This is more expensive. Anybody with ideas on how we could raise money from the Newsletter please contact us.
Christmas approaches and our social secretary and his team have arranged a lunch at Madingley Hall. This should be very good. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
Ann and Brian Tolliday.
