Born in 1949 in Walthamstow, London, I was one of three children brought up by Alf & Vera my dear parents now departed from this world who I thank for my standing in life without their guidance my life would be without meaning. I started Karate around the age of twenty five trying out several schools some of which were like paying money to get beaten up. I remember our training consisted of running around the streets in bare feet, doing 100 push ups on our knuckles, 100 sit ups with the teacher running across our stomachs. After this he would punch us in the stomach to test our ability to take pain. Rather sadistic, I'm sure it would kill me today, or I him :-). Along came "Kung Fu," Kwai Chang Caine and I was hooked. I found a Kung Fu club and started on the road to where I am today. I must emphasize to future students the importance of seeking out good teachers because some of them don't have your best interests at heart. I can only offer my own experiences as an example along a sometimes rocky road. Good or bad they are all experiences in life's great tapestry. I now have a happy heart knowing the knowledge that I have gained from

pure positive teachings from the Yang Family. The art of Tai chi has brightened my life enormously. It gives me great pleasure seeing students complete the forms and expand their own horizons. At first, their bodies are starched stiff, then over time they become supple and able to bend like young saplings. They are able to perform moves that at first sight they thought impossible. Without Tai Chi in my life I'm sure I wouldn't be around today. Clayton has been training Kung Fu since he was fourteen training with masters Chan Hung Chun, Cheung Yee Keung and Kong Pui Wai who used to come to our flat in Hong Kong to train us, we would ascend to Monkey Mountain 猴子山 after or training sessions and practice what we had been taught. Living in Hong Kong and training in the mountains and on the islands in the south China sea was a great experience and one I shall cherish. Clayton has honed his martial art and has achieved a very high standard in performance of his forms. Also a life member of the Hong Kong Martial Arts Association Ltd and certified Instructor
