The majority of my working life has been spent employed within the
National Health Service. I am qualified as a State Registered Nurse and Midwife, and have
cared for people in the hospital and community setting. My studies for a BSc with the Open
University, concentrated on Environmental and Development studies.
I trained as a Reflexologist with the Oxford School of Reflexology, and am
now a Member of the Association of Reflexologists.
In addition I am able to offer Reiki and Indian Head Massage treatments.
The decision to move to the field of Complementary Health Care is based on
the need to continue caring for people within a environment that is built on the values I
hold.
Complementary therapies have become more accessible and are winning over
support within the Health Service as research offers evidence for its effectiveness.
I am interested in many aspects of energy work. This has led me to explore
the martial arts, where energy Chi is a fundamental factor. I currently hold
a Dan Grade in Karate and train in the art of Aikido.
