Brian Jeffels started as a rock guitarist, went through the 'prog-rock' era, flirted briefly with keyboard-based music, then discovered the acoustic scene and emerged some years later as what he is today: a multi-instrumentalist balladeer and singer songwriter. Ranging in style from fine generic English folk songs to Celtic tunes (with a little bit of Old Time thrown in for good measure), his guitar and stringed  instrument  technique (influenced by those early days) make his arrangements instantly recognisable as his own. As well as being a solo artist Brian Jeffels is also one half of The Creosote Brothers with Alan Jenkins: a duo formed to play Alan's Americana style songs on a short tour of Italy, which grew into a long-standing partnership. Playing a variety of gigs from festivals to folk clubs in both the Creosotes and as a solo performer, Brian is becoming  a familiar face around the sessions and clubs of Bedfordshire (where he makes his home) and the surrounding counties. His first CD was released in June 2009 titled 'For whom the willow weeps', and he can also be heard on various other artists' recordings more info some of which are available on this site or have a link. The start of 2010 sees a further collaboration with Clarke, Gittins and Blundell on their new CD and  regular gigs throughout the year. A new CD is expected around Spring/Summer 2012 after an  enforced break towards the end of 2010 after Carol Schaessens (whistle/recorder) and Brian were involved in a serious road accident on the way home from playing. Carol wasn't out of hospital until December and now the work begins again. (But probably a little slower!) There's a new band, formed in the summer of 2011: as well as Carol, there's now Heather Saunderson on fiddle and Vince Gorman playing all manner of stringed instruments and bodhran.
