The Oval Sports Centre

The Oval is situated just outside New Ferry, alongside Old Chester Road between Higher Bebington and New Ferry.

Operated by Wirral Borough Council, it offers the most extensive range of sporting activities of any single facility on Wirral. Opened in 1974 and extensively refurbished in 2007, the sports centre includes 2 swimming pools (one a competition and leisure pool the other a learning pool). There is a multi- activity sports hall, two squash courts and a progressive fitness suite.

The complex also has many outdoor facilities including an artificial ski slope and new tennis courts.

The centre plays host to many sporting events including the North West Disabled Athletics Open and The Merseyside Youth Games.

Stanley Road Tennis Courts

Technically within New Ferry Park, situated off Stanley Road, are two tennis courts.  Owned by Wirral Borough Council, these are free for all to use.  There is no booking system - the courts are there for anyone who wants to use them to simply turn up and make use of them if they are free.
