ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Wirral has a
telephone actionline called "It's Your Call" for reporting anti-social
behaviour in your neighbourhood. This actionline currently operates from
9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. An answerphone service is provided
out-of-hours and calls will be returned the next working day. The
service is also available through One-Stop Shops across the Borough. If
you are experiencing such problems where you live, ring them on 0151 606
2020. Find out more about the service at
http://www.wirral.gov.uk/he/Housing/NNT/ItsYourCall.htm
Wirral's
Anti-Social Behaviour Team has also produced a booklet/guide to help you
if you are experiencing problems in your neighbourhood.

BROKEN PAVINGS, STREET LAMPS ETC
The
Streetscene team has been specially set up to deal with all queries
regarding broken pavings, unmown grass, blocked gullies, fallen trees,
street litter, non-functioning street lamps, broken road signs, etc. The
sooner you ring them about it, the sooner it may get fixed. Ring

CRIME - REPORT IT
Although the
police cannot be everywhere, we still urge residents to report crimes,
acts of vandalism and other disturbances to the police by ringing
0151
777 2080. Ask for a “crime reference number”: this will ensure your
report is recorded and will help to win more resources for New Ferry
policing. If you wish to remain anonymous, then ring Crimestoppers on
0800 555 111.
The Council
also has Wirral Community Patrol whose duty is to make Wirral "a safe
place to live, work and visit." Its 20 officers provide security
for all Council premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; but they also
patrol problem areas where anti-social behaviour is a repeating issue.
They work with other council departments and partner agencies to report,
record and analyse problem hotspots, giving support to the police and
neighbourhoods. If you are aware of persistent anti-social
behaviour and environmental crime such as fly-tipping in your area,
please ring them on
0151 666
5265.

WIRRAL CREDIT UNION LTD
A new branch
has opened in New Ferry, and we hope you will take the opportunity to
help yourself to better manage your own personal financial matters.
WHAT IS THE WIRRAL CREDIT UNION?
We are a
local financial co-operative. Membership is limited to people who
work or live on Wirral. Local people join and SAVE whatever money
they can; this money is pooled together, and from that pool, loans are
granted to members who need it. Loans can be made for any
prudential purpose but not for gambling, alcohol or any criminal or
damaging things.
HOW DO WE
OPERATE?
To join us,
simply fill in an application form and provide proof of identity and
address - this is a legal requirement. Then you save some money.
You can pay in from your wages, through your bank by standing order, or
if you are not working or do not have a bank account you can pay in
cash.
HOW DO I
GET MY MONEY BACK OR APPLY FOR A LOAN?
Simply ask
us on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and the cheque will be available
that Thursday. If you wish, you can take your cheque to our bank and
exchange it for cash at no cost to you.
WHAT DOES
IT ALL COST?
There is an
annual subscription charge of £5 and, of course, you pay a reasonable
interest on loans; otherwise there are no other charges. In fact,
each year after, after we have accounted for our costs, and external
audit has been completed, we pay a small dividend to members.
WILL MY
MONEY BE SAFE?
Yes! We are
authorised and governed by the Financial Services Authority, and are
members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and the Financial
Services Ombudsman Scheme. Your money is also covered by the
Fidelity Bond Insurance.
WHERE ARE
WE?
Our shop is
at 77 New Chester Road, New Ferry, Wirral CH62 1AB
You can ring
us on
0151 645
8251
We are open
Mon-Thu 10.00am till 4.00pm. |
