SAVING THE WORLD IN STYLE

Welcome, to the new ‘Avengers 98’. An Internet fan site created exclusively for the 1998 Warner Bro's. movie ‘The Avengers’, starring Ralph Fiennes as John Steed and Uma Thurman as Dr. Emma Peel. 10 years in the making, this 90’s remake of the cult 60’s classic finally hit our cinema screens in the hot summer of 1998 and Avenging was never so much fun ! This site is dedicated to the entire cast and crew of the movie, who, despite everything, created something quite magical, unique and above all visually stunning. So pour yourself a cup of tea (with lemon) grab a macaroon, sit back and enjoy the adventure !

Missing Scenes :
It’s fairly common knowledge that many key scenes were hastily edited out of the final print of the movie, leaving it somewhat incoherent to the casual viewer. Here you will find details, original story boards & photos relating to those scenes, inc Mike Plant’s amazing reconstruction of the destruction of Prospero sequence. ENTER

Visit the Avengers movie archives, where probably one of, if not the largest private collection of artifacts related to the films production in the world is now housed. The archive has been acquiring props and promo memorabilia related to the production since 1997 and boasts several key pieces including the only known surviving giant mechanical wasp & John Steeds ‘unseen’ Ministry security pass. The J. Peterman Avengers Fashion Range

Project: Jay Dee - The Construction Kit

Latest Acquisition 15:05:08

In 1997 I purchased the Jay Dee Uma Thurman ‘Emma Peel’ Avengers model Kit at a local collectors fair. Not being impressed with the sculpture, or the bulkiness of the model (the base alone weighs in at a staggering 1.5 kilos) the kit was started and then quickly abandoned after only a few days. Uncompleted and left gathering dust in the loft for the last decade, I recently rediscovered it and finally, after over 10 years, decided to give this Avengers movie kit another try. Follow the building of this now rare, if rather inaccurate & cumbersome resin figurine in the workshop HERE.

Cost £675.00

The American company J. Peterman issued a range of authentic, fully licensed replica costumes from the film in 1998. This range included virtually all of the outfits featured on screen, from Steed’s green velvet smoking jacket to Emma Peel’s silk Chinese sheath dresses, suede suit to her blacl leather catsuit. This range, although completely accurate, came at a staggering price. A replica catsuit would have set you back near on $2000.00, that’s if you could locate one ! Only six were finally produced. More information HERE.

Where Are They Now ?

Last seen together in the Avengers, but where are these 11 giant teddy bears now ?
The bright green bear turned up in the 1999 movie
Inspector Gadget and the pink bear made an appearance in 2002 in ‘The Martini Shot’, an episode of the US TV series She Spies. Uncomfirmed reports state that the yellow bear was seen doing the rounds at children’s fetes and shows across the USA in early 2004.
