Care Guide - Sexing

It is only important to know the sex of your dragon if you are intending to keep them in groups.

Typically speaking you should only keep one male to an enclosure.

It can be quite hard to tell the sex of babies, and some males may develop late, resulting in an inaccurate sexing of female.

There are many behavioural differences which people might attribute to males, such as higher levels of aggression, blacker beard, dominance behaviour... but these are not accurate, as some females can display them.

The most accurate way of telling is by lifting up the tail of your bearded dragon and looking at the vent.

A male will have two bumps on the tail, just behind the vent. A female will have one pronounced bump in the center.
