Question:
What toxins do you
believe the PLX helped you to clear?

I started the PLX in the early days of Nutrition Associates using it and it wasn't
until we had been doing it for a while that they raised the possibility of toxins
causing my problems. As a result, the testing that we did before starting the PLX
was the Fatty Acid
analysis from the Kennedy Krieger lab and not any testing for toxins. Then,
when we'd been doing the PLX for a while I did the Biolab ATP Profile which also indicated the
presence of "toxins" but again this was in the early days of that test and so
they weren't any more specific than that. I think that Biolab is much better
at interpreting the results these days.
It wasn't until September 2006, 9 months after I had finished the PLX (and also
done 6 months of colestipol) that I did the Biolab Translocator Protein Studies and
Pesticides [no longer available]
tests. The pesticides test was done using a fat sample rather than blood.
The Translocator Protein Studies showed the presence of glutathione conjugates of
cadmium; and the pesticides test showed Hexachlorobenzene, with minimal levels of
everything else, maybe because the colestipol had done its job. As a result we
then did the Full toxic metals
scan after a DMPS treatment which showed lead, tin and mercury in addition to the
cadmium.
So, it's not really possible to say what toxins, if any, the PLX cleared, and
without any obvious exposures, it's not even possible to speculate on what it might
have cleared. Obviously, for me, it didn't clear the cadmium, lead, tin,
mercury or hexachlorobenzene but I do believe that it did something, as evidenced by
the side effects that it generated, and that it made me healthy enough to be able to
take the next step in the healing process, but we didn't do the necessary testing
to see what actually happened, even assuming that the necessary tests were available.
