To the right is a list of the countries I've been to so far.
Click on a country for a pile of information, for some useful facts, links and resources, to find out more about my time there, for my opinion, my recommendations, or to buy an idiot guide (if available).
Blue links indicate that free online information is available.
Red links indicate that free online information is available, and that you can buy an idiot guide for this country.
Greyed-out links are countries which I have been to, but which I have not yet written a web-page for. I will try to add them gradually, so keep checking back.
Some of the countries, I've been to many times and explored extensively, others I've barely set foot on before being kicked straight out again. (top tip - if you know you need a visa, you really should buy one!) |

As you can see from the map, most of the world is still 'terra incognita' to me, but I'm still (relatively) young, and have a good few years left in my backpack. So hopefully I'll be able to add more yellow circles in the future.
Since my first foray over the Scottish/English border (a notional rather than national border!) in 1981, I have gradually extended my tendrils over most of Western & Central Europe, made a few tentative thrusts into Eastern Europe and had a quick prod of Western Asia. I have made 4 'expeditions' into Africa, and had a quick sniff of North America.
Watch this space. Next stop - somewhere!
