Subject: Friends

suppose this could just class as a really long message, but rather than waste space there I thought I'd waste it here. Slightly less pretentious than 'Musings' (but not very much).
I suppose I want to question why some teenagers feel like they're living in a soap opera, and some just shake off their ills and carry on, often helping people on their way.
For instance, my best mate is the most supportive person ever. She is given no money by her single Mum, and has to work 4 - 12pm most days so she can afford to get clothes, eat at school and go out. She doesn't know where her Dad lives, but her Mum would feel all betrayed if she went there, mutual slagging off from both parents and general nastiness. Her ex-boyfriend of 1 year relationship is currently messing around with one of her (young) best mates, whilst ostracising her for having a crack at his best mate, and she's lost her mate in the bargain! She's struggles sometimes at school ,and her sister is frankly evil to her (she gets no support on that since her sister is head girl and obviously a star)
That's skimming the surface, yet she has time every day to ask me how I'm doing and sort my life out, given that I'm a pathetic lump who hits deep shit with every minor problem and lets it get me down. She was actually offended when I kept my problems from her in an attempt to lift her load a little! Thats' the kind of friend everyone should be blessed with, but how in God's name do I help her?
She sorts me, mothers me, helps me, I sit by and watch as her life gets slowly shittier, why is life so unfair? I'm an evil bastard, very manipulative and generally can be very nasty, she's strong willed beautiful and generally nice!
Goddamn, thankgods for best friends, what would we do without them (even if it is have significantly less bruises..I have peculiar friends, had a breast comparing session last week, all decided which breast we liked best! don't ask ok...)
