Subject: Nazis
This piece was written as a piece to submit to my school english
class, but as my teachers seem to believe that I only write
to annoy them, I thought it would be better used here. So
here it is. A quote that comes to mind is "god's war against
man is a holocaust, but what coming now is god's war against
man's war against man, it's not a holocaust, it's a war, it's
man war against himself". I like that quote because it implies
that the only people who could cause a holocaust believe themselves
to be god-like. So much so that they feel they have the power
to wipe out entire races, species, or the entirety of life
on this planet, hopefully it wont come to that, but it just
might the way Nazism is coming back into fashion in some places.
It also seems likely that it will come to this, because of
the situations around the world of dictators and the damage
they instate. The situation of Hilter and the Jewish holocaust
was terrible because Hitler could hide the fact that he was
massacring Jews for more that 6 years, and the world was blind
to the fact, or simply ignored it. The holocaust centre taught
me many things about the cunning of the Nazi's. It also showed
me the wrongness of the Christian philosophy of turning the
other cheek in situations of such severity. Though I'm not
arguing it's good in situation of personal name calling or
abuse, it is not the answer to a global problem. The story
of the Catholic priest was a very good example of this fact,
the Nazi's came for the Jews, but he didn’t worry, because
he wasn't a Jew, the Nazi's came for the communists, but he
wasn't a communist so he didn't step in and protest. The Nazi's
came for the Protestants, but he wasn’t concerned because
he was not Protestant, when at last the Nazi's came for the
Catholics, there was no-one left to protest. When I was looking
at the pictures taken by the Nazi photographers, I was quite
appalled that they would incriminate themselves like that
for no real reason, it was disgusting the way the exploited
their position of power over them. I'm not going to deny the
fact that Adolf Hitler was an extremely clever man, but I
think it is plain to see that his views on the world were
very narrow and prejudiced. I believe that he stared what
we now refer to as the "white supremacists". Those people,
always white Caucasians, who believe themselves to be above
every other race of man, for no other reason than they are
self righteous, and inclined to think that the rest of the
world will follow them should they start a revolution. Hitler
though did not start only bad things, I believe that he started
world leaders on a campaign against racism, segregation, and
double standards that were still everywhere, and unfortunately
still are. These are my views, and if you disagree with them
don’t take it out on me. I am simply stating what I see to
be true in my opinion.
