Observation
Point - Multiplex
New album of
atmospheres and tones. Discover the dark secret that haunts Wales.
There is so much
variation inherent on this set of ten electronic music tracks that it's
hard to pin down. The main thematic link would be in the rhythm department, while
the main thing to call it all would be ambient, down-tempo or chilled-out,
very often, all three. Founded on a bed of vari-paced electronic, percussive and bass-heavy rhythmic foundations, in the main, this is
electronic music with movement and flow, sometimes urgent, more often languid, occasionally almost lounge. At the same time there is this brooding
synth-laden atmosphere that hangs over the melodies like a dark cloud on a
sunny day, threatening but not unleashing anything unexpected. As a mix of
ambience, melody, rhythm and depth, there is a lot on which to focus. If you
want a musical comparison, then forget it - this is one electronic project
which, despite its total accessibility and ease of digestion, is very much
out on its own, and probably all the better for it, musically if not exactly
commercially.
