http://www.ebico.co.uk/en/open/pages/welcomeen.php  - EBICo is an electric and Gas supply Company founded in 1998 and is a not-for-profit Company, limited by Guarantee. The Company's aim is to harness the power of ‘the market’ to tackle real issues of social concern. The web site editor uses this supplier so it does work !!

EBICo develop commercially viable ventures that enable all consumers to use their purchasing power to further ethical goals.

EBICo's guiding principles are a bias towards those on low incomes and stewardship of resources. We believe that these principles are entirely consistent with those of the Christian Gospel. Our initiatives have been making a real difference to households since 1999.

www.church-on-the-net.com  Church on the Net (CotN), is a new church 'planted' on the internet, launched on July 1.  CotN is intended to evangelise those people around the world who currently have no contact with either God or church. We make no assumptions about pre-existing knowledge, and aim to explain the major Christian principles in a simple and engaging way so that we can bring these ideas into people's comfort zones.

Useful phone numbers If you want to stop unsolicited telephone calls see http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/   or contact the Telephone Preference Service on 020 7291 3320 and get registered.

You will find the calls stop very quickly.  However, be aware that some tele sales companies now use software to fool your telephone operators system into thinking it is calling from a number that you can use 1471 on when you can't, and that calls made from abroad are not governed by our laws.  Also be aware of 'silent calls' where tele sales companies use equipment that dials several numbers at once and the salesperson only speaks to the first respondant.  The other called numbers are ignored or left to hang in silence giving the impression that you are the recipient of a possible malicious call when in fact the tele sales caller software is simply ignoring you.  Very rude and worrying but not in fact malicious.

If you want to stop junk mail (and speed up postal deliveries), http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/  or contact the Mail Preference Service on 020 7291 3310.

The results are well worth the effort.
