Sadri Arab Mahallati

I was born in a little town in the centre ofIran, between Isfahan and Tehran. My home town is called Mahallat where is located in the centre of Iran. Mahallat is well known for its climate, hot water springs,Sarogh carpets, stone mines and knitwear industries.

I finished my secondary school in Darol Fonoon High School in Tehran in 1968 when I obtained a diploma in maths.I then went to Tehran University and graduated with BSc in social science in 1973.

I was a teacher for ten years in Iran which coincided with Iran/Iraq war. After the war I moved to England and ran a family business(frozen food and Persian carpets). In meantime I entered Loughborough University as a mature student and managed to gain a degree in Mathematics.

At present I am a teacher of Mathematics and teach maths and computing at the CENTRAL SCHOOL in Grantham

From an early age I have been interested and involved in sport. I play table tennis, squash and badminton regularly. I enjoy travelling and meeting different people from different cultures.

I lived most of my childhood in Mahallat. My primary schools was called Akhgar and Majd. I have a lot of good memories from that time.
Once I became too clever !!!. I used to go give sweets from my dad's shop to other kids to do my homework for me. Very soon that was found out and the punishment was quite severe

This is the picture of my dad's house in winter.

During my stay in Tehran for almost six years my uncles Seid Neimatolah , Agha Mamad and specially my uncle's wife Taher Khanoom looked after me and I have never forgotten their kindness and generousity
