For a perfect relaxing break, an exciting activity holiday or a tour of the cultural highlights of Andalucia, Villa Hestia is the perfect place to be. It is set among the vineyards, olive groves and almond orchards in the foothills of the beautiful Sierra Alimajara. Villa Hestia can accomodate 6
people in spacious, stylish surroundings with fabulous views from its
terraces and private swimming pool (7.5m x 3.5m).

A 5 minute walk from the villa
brings you to the very edge of the Sierra Alimajara National Park
boundary. From here a path leads upwards affording magnificent views over
the park itself. Within 2 km in either direction you will find two or more
major pathways into the mountains. Other activities are available such as
pony trekking, climbing, mountain biking and jeep tours. These can be
arranged locally and we will be pleased to help do this.

Three km from the house is the traditional white town of Competa clinging to the side of the mountain. Here you can find shops, banks and other services or you can simply spend a pleasant day in one of a number of local bars or restaurants serving local and international cuisine. Alternatively, you can wander through its tiny white-washed streets and tranquille plazas. A 10 km picturesque drive
through groves of avacadoes brings you to the coast and the nearest
beaches. A little further along is the quiet but elegant resort of Nerja.
Nerja lies in a beautiful mountain bowl and has the finest beaches on the
Costa del Sol, world famous caves and many good quality shops and
restaurants. Sub aqua diving courses can also be booked at Nerja.

Beyond Nerja the coast is completely unspoilt with the mountains sweeping down to the sea and pathways leading to beaches that are practically deserted even in summer. Nearby is Frigilliana, perhaps the prettiest village in the Costa del Sol. It clings to the side of a mountain below its Moorish castle. For excursions further afield,
there are the glories of Granada (1.5 hour drive) with its world heritage
site, the Alhambra Palace. A similar distance away are the Alpujarran
valleys and the Sierra Nevada, good for walking and skiing. Further away,
but still possible on a day trip are the classic white towns such as
Ronda. | |||
