Solid Burr Oak Writing Slope

A writing box or slope. the box is made from solid burr oak, finger jointed at the corners. It is lined with aromatic cigar box Cedar and suede effect cotton fabric. The skiver or writing top is lined with gold tooled leather. There are two secret compartments.

The first compartment is fairly easy to find, by pressing on the right hand end of the pen tray, pictured top right, it can be removed to find a hiding space below. All the fittings are made from antiqued brass.

The second is slightly more complicated. The top slope is hinged open and the tray is removed revealing two "mouse" holes (centre below )at the base of the support, by sliding this up you can find the secret drawer.

Birds Eye Maple Writing Slope

The box shown here is constructed from birch ply and veneered with birds eye maple. The interior is lined with maple, green velvet and walnut. The slope is covered with antiqued green leather skiver with gold tooling. The slopes are hinged to reveal storage compartments and at one end a secret drawer.

The cost of a writing slope measuring 310mm wide x 230mm deep x 130mm high is £700.00 (plus P&P). I can make these to any  specifications in many other veneers, please contact me to order or discuss details.
