For all the material collected at this recycling centre Broxtowe Borough Council generously donates an amount of money, dependant on tonnage collected, to the 6th Beeston Scout Group, in turn, 6th Beeston maintain the recycling site.

Please help us maintain the site by sending an E-Mail  treasurer@6thbeeston.org if you find the containers full or if you have any concerns or issues regarding this site.

Paper is used in many Scouting activities and is carefully collected at our premises by the members who then transport it to the recycling centre as part of work toward their Scouting achievement badges.

Many of the members deliver free papers, the surpluses of which are no longer collected by the respective paper distributors and therefore have contributed to the success of our recycling regime.

The local old peoples homes also provide paper which is collected by our members who report at their Annual General Meetings the amount of contribution of tonnage they have made to recycling and the monetary value to Scouting.

The monetary contribution is important to the Group but the scheme also generates a sense of responsibility and contribution to the community recycling effort by the Groups members, made up of children of all ages (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides) and their leaders who help to educate the youngsters in their social and community responsibilities.
