Relocate not Radiate

Welcome to the Ampthill Against Aerials Web Site.

At the meeting of the Bedfordshire and Luton Combined Fire Authority in Luton on Thursday 8th June 2000 the following recommendation was passed unanimously: In view of the overwhelming public concern over the siting of this mast the precautionary principle should be adopted and the mast removed immediately.

The Mast was finally removed on Monday 22nd July 2002 see Aerial Removed

Ampthill Against Aerials was formed on 23rd June 1999 to protest against an Orange mobile phone mast which had been placed on the drill tower of Ampthill Fire Station.  The Fire Station is less than 50 metres from Russell Lower School.

The campaign aim is to relocate the aerial to a non-residential area until such time as there is 100% proof that there is no health risk to the local residents and school children.
