My longest, most interesting and most adventurous trip to-date. A home-brew trip by bike, bus and train through a large slice of the Indian subcontinent. When you cycle in an organised tour group villages are places to get through. Heads down, knees pumping - don't stop, don't interact with the locals. In India in 2000 we had stones thrown at us as we passed through villages - but we didn't stop, didn't interact (except negatively) and didn't contribute to the local economy. When you cycle into a village on your own you are the headline in next week's paper. Everyone wants to know where you come from, where you are going and why you are riding a bike. The friendliness is almost overwhelming. The pages for this trip are on a different server -- so there is not a seamless link to get to or back from there.
