Web Quests

What is a Web Quest?

'An enquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by students is online. By providing links necessary to complete the quest, the student is able to focus on the material rather than spend time looking for it.'

Dr Bernie Dodge, the originator of the WebQuest idea, maintains The WebQuest Page, based at San Diego University in the USA. The site contains a page of downloadable templates to speed up the process of WebQuest creation.

Task 2

Either using a template or by creating a Web page from 'scratch' make a simple WebQuest linked to a QCA primary history scheme of work unit. Use FrontPage (or another Web authoring program) to construct your page. As a  minimum, your page should contain an Introduction, a Task, an outline of the WebQuest Process and a Resources section, containing relevant Web links.

When finished, post the Web page to Group Share on IBIS.
