Creating a multimedia timeline

Timelines from Soft Teach is a package which enables children to compile on-screen (and printable) timelines, based on personal histories or a chosen period. Once a suitable scale has been set up, events of different types can be located on a timeline and additional information can be entered in information windows. This information can be in the form of text, images and/or sound files. The program provides a very effective means by which information gathered during enquiries can be organised and communicated within a chronological framework. Although the package is most appropriate for Key Stage 2 use, it could be used at Key Stage 1 with adult support.

Ideally activities should be carried out on Internet-linked computers, so that images and sounds found by searching (see previous task) can be pasted directly into Timelines information windows.
