First there is the high...
...then there is the low. The Saturdays have not won since reaching the lofty heights of top spot in the league in mid-May, having lost to both Commonwealth and Deando, as well as having the Sheen game called off due to rain. The Sundays have also been finding going a little tough, losing to both Keymer and Kenley, and scrambling a draw against a strong Roan side.

Club buys new roller
Ok, so its hardly Sky News worthy, but the club has made an important investment recently, with the purchase of a new roller for Russ to roll the pitches. This will make Russ' job of preparing the pitches much easier. Details are:

1964 Wallis & Steveens 2.5 ton roller fitted with twin cylinder diesel engine type: 2 YWA mk 2 by Ruston & Hornsby with 12 volt electric starter. This machine was unused for some time before I purchased it for rolling my local cricket clubs pitch, the engine cover is missing,I have a cover for the battery. I have cleaned out the fuel tank fitted a new fuel filter & fuel return pipes & given the bodywork a coat of paint. The engine oil is new & the correct grade for this type of engine. The engine starts on the key first time & runs fine but smokes a when cold & at higher revs, the roller drives ok & all gears work, there is a bearing fault in the gearbox.

Speed range is from 1/4 mph-4mph approx. I am selling it to fund another roller restoration project.Overaul lenth of roller 10ft width 4ft rear roller dia 35" front roller width 2ft rear roller width 13" maximum height 4ft 7", will fit on car trailer, I have no means of delivery so buyer collects. Please contact me for more details & if you wish to view before purchase.I reserve the right to withdraw from sale at anytime as the roller is advertised elsewhere.
