David Samuel, aka 'mule', aka 'Casper', aka 'Van der Saar', aka 'Trigger'. Dave provides the heart of the lower-middle batting order of the ROCCC Sunday side. An expert at punishing the lob and long-hop styles of bowling, Dave's trademark shots include the lofted legside drive and the back-foot cover drive. Capable of playing a big innings, Dave is often let down by his inability to remember to wear both contact lenses prior to a game. An athletic fielder, the mule is known for several outstanding catches in the gully and is prepared to use all parts of his body to stop runs, notably his head on several occasions. Despite a lean start to the season, Dave will be looking for a few big innings to up his batting average by the end of the summer.
