Wife makes speedy return
by Nick McGlynn

Marie passed over at 8 a.m. in Luton and Dunstable Hospital on June 17. She had suffered from emphysema, heart failure, kidney failure and dementia. That same evening medium Colin Fry was due to hold a direct voice seance. I phoned him and asked if I could attend the meeting as there was nowhere else I would rather be than with like-minded people. Colin immediately agreed.
I asked Colin not to tell anyone what had happened that morning or anything about me as I did not want to create an emotional atmosphere but rather a happy and harmonious state for the seance. Naturally I hoped that my wife had arrived safely and was free of pain.

After the communal singing to raise the energy and vibrations Frances, better known as Judy Garland, sang Over the Rainbow after which she came to me, held my hand, and said, "This one is for you, honey". To the group she said, "Halfway through the next song another person would take over - something that is very difficult but we'll try it". Then she sang Maria from West Side Story. Halfway through 'Dolly', a female impersonator when on earth and a regular communicator, took over and finished the song. Just hearing this was enough as no-one there, not even Colin, knew my wife's name.

With a thankful heart I relaxed and felt my Marie was okay now but the best was yet to come. After Dolly had joked a little and answered a few queries he told everyone he was missing the big celebrations going on behind the scenes. Then he added, "Now we are going to try and do something that has rarely been done before and that is to bring someone through whose energies and vibrations are not fully over our side which makes it difficult and very dangerous for the medium. So I must ask everybody to be perfectly still, or as still as possible, and, where you can, join hands, except Nick". With pounding heart I thought, 'Will she, won't she, can she? what's going to happen?' and began to hyperventilate. As I managed to control myself I heard Dolly say, "Come along, I'm going to help her through because the person is not completely stable our side yet and its very dangerous for the medium". He gently coaxed her and after about ten seconds a fairly weak voice said, "Nick, Nick I'm home, I'm home (in the special way I used to announce my arrival to her when I came home). I said, " Oh Marie, how wonderful. I'm so happy, so happy for you". She replied, "Thank you for being with me last night (meaning in the hospital). I'm glad all the trouble and all the pain is over for you. They have been so kind to help me to come". "It's marvellous and lovely of everybody, I'm so happy", I said. Dolly was heard saying to her, "Walk into it, all you have to do is walk into it " (meaning the ectoplasm).

Nick: Keep calm, take your time, I'm here. Thank you for touching me and holding my hand, isn't it wonderful?
Marie: I love you, I'll wait for you.
Nick: Have you met your Mum and Dad?
Marie: Yes, also Leslie.
Nick: Leslie?
Marie: Yes, with a large gin and tonic.
Everyone exploded with laughter as Marie became stronger.
Nick: I'm so happy you are free of all your pains. The doctors were so good with you.
Marie: Yes. I want you to have a ball, go out and have a good time.
Nick (light-heartedly): Right! I'll spend all your money, sell all your jewellery and go to Switzerland and see our close friend, Anil, in Australia.
Marie (practically screaming): Yes!, Yes! The money is no good to you here. I am fine but a little weak. I just could not believe it when they said I could come back tonight.
Nick: I'm really amazed.
Marie: It's a terrible strain on him (Colin), I haven't got everything over yet - it's hard for them to do this.
Nick: They were very good and kind to do it.
Marie: Have you decided when you'll stick me in the box?
Nick: I'll sort you out, just me, Jaycee and Ravi. I'll get rid of you quick as you are in Spirit, not here.
Marie: Yes, that's right. I don't want to be hanging around. Be with you. Be with you on the day of the cremation.
Nick: I understand that, love. We love each other.
Marie: I'll wait for you. Apparently I'm getting a house here and I'm allowed to choose the bloody wallpaper.
Laughter erupted!! I was always the one who chose what went on the walls.
Marie: Don't forget to tell the children (our four sons). I didn't like the song they sang (Maria) in the beginning. I've always hated it.
More laughter. She kissed me on the cheek and stroked my hands through it all even to a dig on the arm when I said that I would sell all her jewellery and spend the money!
Marie: I must go now, it's dangerous for the medium.
Nick: I love you and hope you will come again another time.
Marie: Yes. Goodbye darling.
