| More than fifty. But if I lived on Mars I would be only 26 because years are longer there. If I lived on Jupiter I would be only 4, which is too young to work. But on Mercury I would be more than 200! Find out how old you are on a different planet. | |
| On the computer, mostly. I have a desktop PC and a Macbook Air. But if I am in a café, library, or train I usually write on paper with a pen or use any computer to hand and email the work back to myself. I occasionlly use my iPad, but not often. | |
| On my bicycle, which is old and blue and has a bell that looks like Elmer the elephant lots of coloured squares! I also have a tiny car called Henri. I go most places in the UK by train. I usually go to Italy by train, too: Eurostar to Paris, then the overnight train to Venice or Rome. The train gets in just in time for breakfast. | |

Quite a lot! There are around 140 that have been published. Then there are at least six that have been written but never published because the publishers ran into problems (some of these might one day find a home with another publisher). |

Almost of all my books are commissioned. That means that a publisher asks me to write a book and I decide whether I want to do it or not. If I dont, I try to think of someone else I know who could write it. Most people who write books for children know each other! Occasionally, I think of a book I want to write. Then I write a description of it and send this to a publisher or my agent. If a publisher likes the idea, I write the book. I very rarely write a book unless I already have a publisher who wants to publish it. |
