Ling's upper school, Northampton Academy
Having built a new set of buildings for the School.
These old buildings where to be pulled down (they now have been pulled down)
Outside views as I walked in the gate at the top end of the site
1 kitchens
2 The theatre block
3 The office, maths, reception and IT block.
Inside the first building. (Integrated studies)
Looking into one of the class rooms. (There where 4 in this block)
and some lockers (you will see more of these later)
These steps lead down from Integrated studies to the labs.
Bottom of the steps and entry to the lab building
The centre and the main lab.
(all the other labs were off this lab. But it was never used as a lab when I was there)
There were 6 smaller labs off the main lab
Looking from one of the labs at the art block (first picture) and over to the collage block (second picture)
Returning outside (about the centre of the site) and heading down to the arts block (lower part)
(The art block can be seen in both pictures)
Just inside art block on the right was a small bar, we go up the steps and into the main part.
This room was added after I had left the school, this use to be an open area
(pottery and wood work where via the brown door in the last picture)
1. Having just come in via the brown door you would have come in to the needle work room
2 . a school made be care full poster
(The following room's where all off the needle work room)
3 the pottery room
4. woodworking room
5. Looking down into the art studios from the needle work room.
These where the art studios
(no pictures of the inside of the art studios due to footpath going past window's)
Art work was still hanging on the walls, in the lower corridor that lead's back to the bar.
The steps seen at the back of this picture is where I first went up
These two room's where used for cooking lessons. They where just off the bar.
Leaving the art block and going over to the collage block at the bottom of the site.
Entering the collage block was easy due to all the windows being smashed.
The collage block was a 2 floor building
The ground floor was open plain and was used for exams and tests
At the back of the building there were some toilets and steps up to the second floor.
On the second floor there where 5 class room's.
(once again not lot of inside pictures due to footpath going past window's)
After exiting the collage block. I went over to what was the history block.
It's now languages and is over looked by the new school and the footpath. So I missed it out.
The office, maths, reception and IT block from the history / languages block
(The history block is on the left, maths ect is in the centre and the labs can just be seen on the right)
Math's ect
You can just make out in the background of this picture the playing field that was giving me hell, as I walked round the open part's of the site due to the game that was going on.
Looking up to the top of the site from the centre
(the theatre can been seen on the right in both pictures)
The office, maths, reception and IT block.
Once again a two story building I will start with the lower floor stuff
This was reception
The lower floor corridor leading to the offices and staff room
The site office where there was a plain of the drains
The phone exchange
and the staff room.
(Not a lot of pictures of the lower floor as this was where security was hanging out,
and was the only part of the site where there was power "see below" and P.I.R'S that worked)
These steps up to IT and maths
The IT rooms
Corridor to maths and one of the maths rooms, all now stripped out.
It was now that someone in a yellow vest type of thing came walking on to the site and I slipped out
Demolish that school pictures.
looking down to the collage block, the IT block is just behind the blue bin
Integrated studies is no more. the lockers seen are now crushed (3rd picture)
The labs have also gone
pottery and wood work go in the claw
The site has now been cleared
