Old Warden Railway tunnel


Old warden railway tunnel was part of the Bedford to Hitchin line

We will be going from the north portal of the tunnel down to the south portal.

In the first picture you can see the hangers at Cardington.

The tunnel is in a wildlife trust park. All be it that the tunnel is not part of the wildlife park

 Parts of the tunnel have been patched up with new bricks of a later date.

Unlike Catesby tunnel, this tunnel was all most dry. There was only 3 lot's of limestone curtains
