A Message from our Chairman

If this is your first visit to our Neighbourhood Watch website, Welcome!!! I hope you find it interesting and informative. Our organisation is known locally as RUNWAY as it sounds like the pronunciation of the acronym of our organisation Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Watch Association, i.e. RNWA. We have been in operation since 2003. We have been set up to improve communications between individual Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Rushcliffe and to work with the other local crime fighting organisations. In particular we work in conjunction with the new Rushcliffe Community Watch (RCW) organisation that gives us a powerful tool for spreading information quickly to street co-ordinators about the most recent criminal activity. The whole thrust of our work is to encourage the development of more and more Neighbourhood Watch schemes through the Borough, which is effectively the area of Nottinghamshire south of the River Trent. In this, we have been enormously successful and RUNWAY is expanding rapidly, with new schemes being launched almost weekly.  It is a well-established fact that areas where Neighbourhood Watch is effective have lower crime rates and residents feel safer and more secure in their homes.
