Background Information

RUNWAY was launched by the Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire on 14 July 2003 in the presence of 100 co-ordinators, deputies and invited guests. The Association, now with approximately 500 schemes, 14,000 households and 31,000 residents, is funded by the Rushcliffe Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and exists to promote the interests and advancement of Neighbourhood Watch throughout the Nottinghamshire Borough of Rushcliffe. We work closely with Nottinghamshire Police and Rushcliffe Borough Council, and particularly with Rushcliffe Community Watch, which is a two-way community engagement programme to empower the community to help reduce crime and the fear of crime.  We are affiliated to the National Neighbourhood Watch Association.

A Neighbourhood Watch Support Worker, Wendy Morris, will monitor calls coming through to RUNWAY when on duty. A voice mail facility is available to deal with calls at other times, and any calls left will be returned as soon as possible. Alternatively there is also an email facility.
