Your records can help!!

In 2013, the British Dragonfly Society plan to publish an new national atlas, covering the latest status of all dragonflies on the UK. This atlas will use dragonfly records made from 2000 onwards. The Northants database is 90% up-to-date in this respect, however there are still areas that contain only pre-2000 records, which will be shown as gaps in the new national atlas. The national atlas will be plotted at 10km square resolution, and the following are the main wetland habitats that occur in those squares.

Please concentrate your recording in the following areas to ensure that we contribute as fully up-to-date database as possible:

  1. Brampton Valley Way around Brixworth

  2. Drayton & Daventry Reservoirs

  3. Boddington Reservoir, Byfield Pool

  4. Kislingbury Gravel Pits

  5. Sulby Reservoir

  6. Burghley Park (near Stamford)

  7. Anywhere near Peterborough.

Don't forget that all records are valuable, whether from under-recorded sites or well recorded sites.
