| HOME SWEET HOME
Ferrets need a warm, dry space to live. They also need ample room to move, stretch and play. We had no idea when we first kept ferrets what the best design for their home should be - and over time we changed it time and again. Most of all their home needs to be secure from the escape artist they are and easy for you to access and clean.
Our ferrets live outside in a 'court' built by us. One side attaches to a brick shed which is heated in the winter and the kits live in a hutch built into the other side.

This is our ferrets home.Ferret home shows partial winter shuttering over mesh panels. Outside doors open to inner half perspex door to prevent ferrets climbing out and allowing us access inside. Total length = 12 feet x 3.5 feet doubled by 2 levels. Click on photo above for larger image.

Removeable Extension - May 2011 The ferret home is expanding! The beanie group is so active I felt they needed a summer extension where we can change the contents frequently to keep them interested. It's removeable or can be used as a standalone pen. |

SPLIT CAGE - 2007 Over time, we've made many changes to our ferret's home. In, January 2007, we had to split the cage into two, as the Tsuki group and the Bingo group weren't getting on. September 2007 - we have added an extension to give all our ferrets loads of space. Click on the picture to see where our ferrets live. |

TUBES OF FUN We made these changes in March 2006 trying to make a place of fun for the ferret to enjoy. Click on the picture left to see the changes we made last year. |
