Here in the UK, as far as I know because we don't show them as competitively as in the US, we generally say a ferret is a 'polecat' for all poley looking guys, and a 'sandy' for dilute poley types and probably "oh, he's got white bits" for the patterns. In the UK, I've heard of american 'roans' called 'silver' and also 'cornish blue'. But hey, I found this chart interesting and it's nice to put a tag on how your ferret looks so you can describe his colour to friends and family.
