Special Report: Blood Bowl at
the Games Day Fanatic Seminar
The author was fortunate enough to be able to attend the
Fanatic Games seminar at Games Day, which featured
extensive Blood Bowl coverage. -
Jervis Johnson was
running the seminar, and mentioned when questioned that
Blood Bowl is the game he's written of which he is most
proud. - There are no plans for (rules
for) new teams for Blood Bowl. It is likely that many,
if not most or all teams will be getting a redesign in
terms of models, but any such changes will be purely
cosmetic. Many of the Star Players will be getting new
figures too; an older, grittier
Griff Oberwald was shown, as well as an
older, just plain bigger Varag
Ghoul-Chewer! - Jervis
discussed again his thoughts on the game after the
division of Undead teams into Khemri, Necromantic and
Vampire teams. One point that he mentioned was that
because Fanatic games make virtually no money anyway,
they don't have to concentrate on getting everything
'right' (or matching the Warhammer World) - sometimes,
they can deliberately do things wrong. An example was
the Ogre Cheerleader,
which is wrong in every sense of the word - and this
from someone whose Orc cheerleaders are nicknamed the
Saggy Squad! A fantastic model, but you wouldn't want to
wake up with her... - The Blood Bowl
Championship this year will not exclude
Star Players.
However, their costs will be modified (after positive
feedback from such a ruling at GenCon) to try and make
them less of a no-brainer. |
