Organisers' Report
Big apologies to everyone who waited for the provisional result to be posted here on the day of the event. I can only put this down to a breakdown of communications with our organiser.
Well, for yet another year running, the weather was extremely kind to us. One of the hottest days of the year so far; We must be doing something right! We had an almost full field of 79 riders including about 9 entries on the line.. as big as last year. With the hot conditions, many on the sidelines commented that they expected more riders to pack than did. In fact, some 50 riders made it to the finish line. Unlike last year, we had a true breakaway winner, Richard Wood (Extreme Endurance) who, with two laps to go, powered away from a break of some 12 riders, to eventually pull out a lead of almost 2 and a half minutes over the chasers with an overall time of 2 hrs 56 mins 25 secs for the 75 miles. The chasers were spread out over a time of some 5 mins 45 secs with the bunch not far behind.

A number of riders commented on the fact that only 3 prizes were awarded. Mark (Doel - Race Commissaire), Andy (Parrish) and I agonised over this, but having set the entry fee at a pretty low level, we faced making a loss even with the feeble prize list. In the past we have boosted the prizes thanks to EOL fees, but since I was driving one of the cars, I couldn’t check the finances during the event. Anyway, we will be setting the entry fees at a level which will give a more respectable prize list next year.
Below are the first 15 results from the Compomotive Road Race as borrowed from the BCF site - not hot news any more, I’m afraid. And I’ve attached a list down to 50th place with timing down to 20th thanks to Ian Chatfield.
