| How
To Get to Les Costes:
Flying
The nearest airport to the house is Rodez, which is about 45 mins away.
Ryanair fly there from Stansted all year round. You can book flights
and car hire through their website www.ryanair.com.
They offer very reasonable priced flights and have a deal with Hertz
car hire if you book through them.
The next nearest airport is Toulouse, which is an hour and half away.
Several airlines fly there.
Driving
We have tried most of the different ferry companies both Channel
and North Sea crossings. The Hull crossing is very good but a bit pricey,
unless you can get a discount offer. Speed Ferries from Dover to Boulogne
are very reasonable and quick, www.speedferries.com.
Also Norfolk Line, Dover to Dunkirk, offer good prices, www.norfolkline.com.
It is about a 9 hour drive form the ports so we tend have an overnight
stay somewhere along the way. A cheap and easy option is to use one
of the economy hotels such as Formule 1 if you don’t mind basic. They
offer rooms that sleep 3 people from 27 to 41 Euro’s a night. www.hotelformule1.com.
The most direct route is via Paris unless you want to add a lot of time
to your journey. It is worth bearing this in mind when planning your
itinerary so you do not hit Paris at rush hour. There is never an ideal
time to go round Paris, but we try to hit it very early morning or late
at night. We have driven it many times and can offer directions that
make things easier.
We tend to stay on the main paying motorways as this reduces travel
time. I am not exactly sure but in total the tolls are about £30 each
way.

Les
Costes is here:
Discover the heart of South West France. The Midi-Pyrenees is one the
largest regions of France, extending from the beautiful valleys of the
Dordogne in the north to the majestic Pyrenees in the South. Our department
is the much undiscovered Aveyron (department 12, see map below).
