Middle Earth - The Wizards - Rules I Use 3/7/04 ---------------------------------------- The Wizards Rulebook -------------------- * Use dice not cards for random numbers * Victory Conditions - we don't use the standard rules additional restrictions on types of VP and penalties / bonuses. * We use the standard game not the LOnger Game options (it is long enough) * We don't use sideboards * Movement - We use region movement, but don't use region cards. Instead we just use a large map and move a figure around on it from region to region. Far easier and less fiddly. * We don't allow characters to just appear at their home site creating a new company - you have to actually send someone to their site to reruit them. This is not a real rule, just a house rule, but it is what we have always done and makes sense to us (actually we did this wrong from the outset, but prefer it like this). We don't play with the restriction which means your Wizard must be at the home site if the Wizard is in play. * We do use the Standard Rules for Characters and Companies splitting and joining at not haven sites. * Combat & Corruption - we do use supporting characters (ie. tap for +1) * We don't allow influence attempts on opponent's characters or followers or factions or allies or items! * We don't use on-guard cards * We use none of the optional rules.
