Triumph Links


This is a selection of Triumph related sites I've come across on the web. Most of the clubs and all of the traders are UK based.

Clubs   (I'm currently a member of the TR Register and the TSSC.)

  • The TR Register caters for all TR's from the TR2 to the TR8. Produces an excellent magazine 8 times a year and has a very active social scene. On their website the message forums can be useful and occasionally stimulate some lively discussions!
  • The TR Register local groups site has details of some of the 47 local groups of the TR Register around the UK.
  • The TR Register Sprint and Hillclimb Championship also has a site, with results, reports, its rules and regulations.
  • The TSSC caters for all Spitfire, GT6, Herald and Vitesse owners. Their web site has been recently updated and is now very impressive. the club produces a monthly magazine, members handbook, cheap insurance and a selection of tuning parts and tools.
  • The Triumph 2000-2500-2.5 Register caters for owners of the big saloons. Produces a
    bi-monthly magazine.
  • Club Triumph caters for owners of all Triumph models.
  • The Vintage Triumph Register is a North American based club for Triumph owners and enthusiasts with a very comprehensive web site.

Triumph Dealers   (I have dealt with most of these at one time or another)

  • Moss Europe. I get a lot of parts from them, especially on their VAT-free show days! They also produce some excellent catalogues - the TR6 catalogue in particular is vital when owning one of these cars.
  • Revington TR are of the most respected and experienced TR specialists. They can supply high quality panels (and even some original Stanpart panels) as well as performance and tuning parts.
  • CTM Engineering supplies new high quality chassis and chassis repair sections for
    TR2-6, as well as undertaking chassis restorations.
  • Rimmer Brothers supply parts for almost any Triumph, have an excellent on-line ordering service and have produced some nice catalogues - the TR6 catalogue being produced in collaboration with Moss! Their web site also contains copies of their catalogues.
  • Canley Classics (which now incorporates John Kipping Triumph Spares) supplies parts and reconditioned units for Spitfire, GT6, Herald and Vitesse. Their website includes some interesting photos of ex-works cars currently under restoration.

(However, I have no direct experience of any of these!)

  • Anglian Triumph are specialist for spares, repairs and restorations for Spitfires, GT6s, Heralds and Vitesses.
  • British Sports Car Spares supply new and used spares for Spitfires, GT6s, Heralds and Vitesses.
  • Cambridge Motorsport supply lots of engine, gearbox and suspension tuning parts for TR's and are also the main sponsors of the TR Register/TSSC Race Championship.
  • Chiswick Car Craft service, MOT, repair and restore all models of Triumph, as well as buying and selling them.
  • John Skinner Limited manufacture trim panels, seat covers, carpet sets, boot parts and hoods etc for TR2 to TR6s.
  • Manvers Triumph undertake servicing, full restorations and also supply parts for the full Triumph range.
  • North Devon Metalcraft specialise in manufacturing body shells and are able to supply complete TR2/3/3A body shells.
  • Quiller Triumph can supply spares for, and work on the TR range, Spitfires, GT6s, Heralds and Vitesses.
  • The Spitfire Graveyard have tons of original second-hand Spitfire parts for sale, all housed in a massive railway arch in Sheffield! They also sell complete roadworthy cars, as well as cars for restoration.
  • Sports Car Supplies have sales and spares for Spitfires, GT6s, Heralds and Vitesses.
  • TR Enterprises supply spares, accessories and tuning parts for race and rally TRs and also undertake restorations. Past projects included TS2, the first RHD TR2, for the TR Register.
  • TRGB a full range of supply parts for TRs, GT6s, Spitfires and Heralds. They can also undertake all work on Triumphs from a service to a full restoration.

UK Classic Car Traders

  • Europa Specialist Spares provide a comprehensive range of parts, components, accessories for classic cars, including engine components, badges and a huge range of electrical and lighting spares.
  • Utility Equipment Ltd can supply top quality hand tools via the Internet.
  • Vintage Plates manufacture the complete range of UK registration plates - aluminium or plastic white on black, yellow and white or self adhesive. The order form has a nice preview feature to see what your plate would look like in any of the formats!
  • The Welding Warehouse supplies industrial and DIY welding equipment and consumables - all available on-line.

  • GT6.COM has information for GT6 and Spitfire owners on a very professional looking site!
  • Steve's Triumph GT6 site has an excellent record of the complete restoration of a MkII GT6, the start of a MkIII GT6 restoration, lots of technical info, OE part number lists and a picture library.

  • The Triumph Home Page has lots of links and lots of Triumph owners listed.
  • The Group 44 page contains some excellent articles, pictures and adverts containing about the this famous Triumph racing team of the 60's and 70's.
  • This is the website of the Friends of Triumph, who are dedicated to preserving the racing heritage of the Triumph marque. The site contains loads of pictures of historic and current Triumph race cars and racing events, as well as contemporary brochures and adverts.

  • The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon has the UK's most comprehensive collection of historic and classic British vehicles from the many companies that eventually made up British Leyland.
  • The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs presents a united front to the politicians and legislators of the UK and Europe in defending the rights of classic car owners.
  • You can hire a TR4, a TR7 or various other classic sports cars from Open Road near Stratford-upon-Avon.
  • CARS.Classics has on-line small ads for classic cars, part and manuals etc.
  • The UK and Irish Vehicle Registration Marks site allows you to decode UK and Irish registration plates to determine the year and the area of a car's first registration.
  • The VirtualGaz tax disc page documents the history of the UK Road Fund License or 'Tax Disc' from 1910 to the present day including scans of a tax disc from each year since 1971! Vital for classic car authenticity!
  • The Ultimate Garage company can build you a fantastic garage - although the ones featured on this site look so clean and tidy they've obviously never had a Triumph anywhere near them!
