 | Recordings that never happened! As
mentioned elsewhere, any recordings that were done at the time are long
gone, or just rubbish - so we waited until the 21st Century to record some
of them again (Well, the equipment is better now for a kick off - we didn't
have Super Glue in those days) |
 | In most cases - it goes like
this....... |
Jan = main
6 (sometimes 7!) String Guitars, Keyboards (yeah!), melodic bits
Me
= Bass Guitar, other 6 String Guitars, sings a bit and other associated racket
Roland
Boss = Drums (he's a robot, and does what he's told and keeps good time)
| Song for a Thought -
a
favourite, probably the tune we played the most that survived all 3
formats of the band.. (7Mb MP3 file) |
Don't Believe A Word
- we never actually played this until recently, but it's
been a bit of an anthem for me with some of the other bands I've played
with - so I forced Jan to do it! He did his bits right first go, this was
Take 1 in his case - I was impressed! (3Mb MP3 file) |
| Cold Turkey -
one of Jan's favourites - so much so that he got the 7-Stringer out for this!. Specially recorded for Flett Band loud music enthusiasts
(.... just me and Jan then?). Roland works hard on this one! A depressing
manic song about the after effects of drugs in the late 1960's - also
describes how I feel after 5 minutes in the same room as.... oops - better
not! That's the 21st Century for you! (5.75Mb MP3 file) |
I Don't Need You - one
that just appeared one day, inspired by all those who have been dumped and
think they've survived - we've all been there and done that! (5Mb MP3
file) |
| Mixed Bag - our anthem - working on it
- it's getting better, honest! |
Unco Up Showband Blues - working
on it - got a structure together, just need to add guitars |

which is something you don't see much of nowadays. I think I made a quid at this
music business once - but it was so long ago that I have forgotten if it really
happened! There might be more where this came from! (Probably best played with Windows
Media Player of some sort - where you can fiddle with it to make it sound better
- or worse!) All done using one of these,
one of these,
and a couple of these
- and sometimes we even played the same things at the same time! |
